Polka Dots: An Ode to my Inner Disney Girl
A polka dot dress fit for a queen 🐭
If you know me at all, you know my inspiration for this outfit was Minnie Mouse 😂 I’ve been a Disney girl since being born into a Disney family. And even though my annual pass isn’t up to date, and I’ve lived in LA for 2 years now without stepping foot inside Disneyland, I still live by the family code: “If you can dream it you can do it,“ a Walt Disney quote that is basically etched on the inside of my brain. So who better to look to for some fun outfit inspiration than the queen mouse herself. Not to mention there’s nothing more classic than some polka dots!

When you're inspired by Disney, but don’t have the time and ability to get to the park, where better to shoot than The Grove?! LA’s own mini-Disneyland, with a trolly down the cobblestone paved main road and fake snow falling at Christmastime, I can’t help but pretend I’m walking down Main Street USA whenever I’m there. (We only got yelled at by one security guard in the making of these photos 😁)
connect the dots.
When I acquired this dress, I thought it was more of a statement than I was ready to make. But when I put it on, danced around a little with its flared sleeves and slitted skirt, I threw any worries I had out the window, honed in on my carefree Minnie energy and decided it was my new go-to ensemble.
